I personally do not believe that climate change is primarily caused by human activity. There are still many aspects of science that we haven’t fully understood, such as the effects and natural cycles of our sun, our planet, and our oceans. It’s premature to even label it as “change” when we’re basing our conclusions on the very short timeframe during which humans have had the wisdom and tools to observe or measure these phenomena.
Farmers and rural communities have served as stewards of the land for generations. They understand that if they destroy their land, it will ultimately destroy their own livelihoods. I believe the real problem arises when you remove responsibility from the hands of individuals and place it in the control of an anonymous entity that has no personal connection to the land—that’s when issues begin to emerge.
Business plays a vital role in our economy, but when you eliminate personal responsibility, you end up with none at all.
